Dear Friends,
The time
leading up to Christmas, Advent, marks the beginning of the Church Year.
It is the time of waiting—waiting for the celebration of the
newborn King. In the midst of the
busyness of the season, this time of Advent offers an opportunity for quiet reflection as we anticipate the
celebration of Christmas Day.
It is a time to consider our blessings, hopes and longings; it
is a time to consider how we use our own gifts for service.
Liberty Lutheran is committed to the well-being of older adults
and vulnerable people. We walk with individuals striving to foster communities
in which people age successfully, overcome challenges, and discover purpose.
In our work together with congregations, communities,
volunteers, and families, the light of Christ shines brightly as we seek to
meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities.
The pages in this booklet contain the reflections, ponderings,
and insights of people who are part of the fabric of Liberty Lutheran. Voices
of volunteers, residents, partners, and leaders reflect the spirit of service
throughout all our families of service at Liberty Lutheran.
It is our hope that these reflections are an inspiration, and
that they bring you peace in this time of busyness, merriment, and waiting.
