1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
St. Paul is writing to the young church (A.D. 51) of Thessalonica and all other believers. With Paul’s incarceration, he sent Timothy to continue encouragement and support to them in building up their faith and works. St. Paul’s core message was to challenge them and us to please God in daily living.
Like the Thessalonians, Liberty continues to become like Paul, faithful and bold, yet sensitive and self-sacrificing. As I reflect on my service with Liberty, what comes to mind is faithfulness to mission in serving the people of God, framed in a passion toward the pursuit of excellence. As people of God we will never reach the epitome of excellence. What God asks of us is to daily pursue being Him. Walking his walk, talking his talk.
As stewards of thousands of people in our care, including residents, employees, volunteers, visitors, and consultants, Liberty must remain faithful to mission, compassionately steadfast in seeking His purpose for us.
Lord, teach me to value your way of doing things above all other ways. (Taken from Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly). Amen.
