Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. (Hebrews 10:18)
God’s freely given gift of grace can
be difficult for many to accept. So often the question of God’s forgiveness
comes up in conversations with our aging population.
As our elders process and review
life, many come to me with concerns in matters of forgiveness. It appears to be
a natural part of reflecting on the brokenness that exists in this life.
In times like this, I rejoice in the
truth of the Gospel. I remind those we serve that, although we live in a broken
world that teaches us love comes with limitations, God’s love for us is
absolutely unconditional.
May the joy and wonder of celebrating the birth of Christ
open our eyes and hearts to the love that God has for his beloved! Amen.
